Third Skill - Pings

This is just the skill of 'THINGS LUCIFER CAN TELL INNATELY'. In canon, angels and demons alike just sort of KNOW THINGS via idk, SOUL SENSE or whatever. Lucifer can do all of those and probably then some cuz um. Lucifer.

I will include a full list under the cut, but if your character is an angel, a demon, or not human, or has other weird soul shit going on and I don't already know this, please comment here to let me know. Lucifer won't be waving this in ya'lls faces or anything, cuz he is not really an info sharer without any reason! But just so I know what he knows he is dealing with <333


-Angels!
-Demons!
-Humans!
-Spirits in general...
-Anything he can't identify will still read as 'idk what that is', there is no 'default' setting.
-If he feels someone's soul once he can identify it later (so if you say, body switched, he would still 'recognize' you).
-Can in general recognize that there are souls around him (maaakes him hard to sneak up on, it's not super specific tho so you would have more luck in a crowd, and it has a pretty short range due to power cap)
-If you have MORE THAN ONE SOUL he can feel that too.
-Dead bodies carry the 'smell' of death about them. (Iii am going to say this only applies to bodies which are still technically dead in some sense. Even if the heart is beating, say, if whatever was keeping them alive disappeared they would go back to being dead. Does not apply to people who died temporarily but got a full, 100%, back to life revival.)
-Certain spirit related connections. I.E. if your soul has been empowered by someone else's soul or sth weird like that.
-Power related things IF that power has a spiritual element. (He can't sense FIREBALLS unless that fireball is FULL OF SPIRITUAL ENERGY instead of FIRE ENERGY or sth.)

Disclaimer: IF FOR SOME REASON YOU DON'T WANT LUCIFER AUTO KNOWING YOU AREN'T A HUMAN OR YOU ONLY HAVE HALF A SOUL OR WHATEVER juuust let me know here. This is very easily blamed on the power cap =|b

Feel free to sense that Ven's heart/soul/my BFF KH metaphysics is off: all the darkness, hate, rage, negativity, etcetera was ripped out, leaving him incomplete but very shiny and full of light. If you want to sense the funky connection between him and Roxas, that would also be cool. (They have two instances of the same heart and thus have a weird emotional ansible effect. KH, MAN.) There's more details in Ven's stats, but. Pings amuse me way too much.

So in KH your heart and your soul are two different thingsssss. :|a Or whatever word you would use for mind/consciousness/identity/etcetera, separate from emotions and the magical spark of life and love and magic that is the heart. They have the same heart but not the same soul. Because my canon is short bus special. >.>

IDK HOW MUCH THIS MATTERS since I haven't really threaded with you, but! Drift is not really "real," if he can pick that up? Like he's here because Aatherlogic but he can't technically exist in the real world. He is just a fictional character! Considering Drift is closer to an idea/concept idk if he has a ~soul~ by AS standards but he does have a sense of self and self-awareness, however shaky.

Let's see, IN CANON INANIMATE OBJECTS CAN ACTUALLY SORT OF. GAIN SENTIENCE and throuuugh that have a soul in the sense of spiritual presence + agency? but it is probably less so than an actual creature would have?

So it could be like that. OR he could not read as having a soul at all, OR he could read as basically the same as the Personae, which is definitely a strong spiritual presence and unique from all of the other make ups he recognizes, but not really 'less real'?

RAVEN IS DEAD. He died ten years ago and is powered by his blastia heart which is made of metal and soul rock (not human soul). Without it he would be dead. Yep.

NAW, MAKES SENSE, AS treats bodies and souls as super different things anyway (lucifer just AS LUCIFER goes through like... four different bodies in canon) he could probably tell your heart is eating our soul if he looked.

Well it's a little ambiguous because I don't think the word "soul" is ever really used, but that would be how I would interpret it in this context.

Oh also, because he's currently using his heart to power his artes, his artes also currently eat away at his life force. /o\ Though that seems unlikely to come up since he doesn't really use them if he can help it, and he would have to use them in front of Lucifer. BUT IF IT DOES YOU ARE WELCOME TO TELL.

BASICALLY the body Ed's in right now is not the one he died in during that train accident in England. It's the body he occupies when they all return to go to the New Narnia, which is the most obvious metaphor for the afterlife, but it's implied that it's sort of like an alternate Narnia that's hit the reset button and all the old character have gone to fill it with stories.

So I guess you could say it's more soul than body, but that's just my take on it because C.S. Lewis loves to handwave and let people think what they want about the ending.

He should, yes. Souya's a demon and the others are also pretty different kinds of beings to him. They all ping as "vampires but different" in slightly different ways on Mitchell's own supernatural sense if that helps.

Ace is not human! I can give more specifics but in all honesty canon is actually super unclear on exactly WHAT Ace is supposed to be (pure dream construct? Extradimensional thing? Extradimensional dream thing??) so it might be easier to go with something nonspecific.

...Also...I don't know how souls work in AS but Ace's soul should probably feel weird beyond general not-human-ness. In that his soul/spirit/life force thing has been recycled multiple times. It's not clear how much continuity there is between each iteration of his spirit, but I suppose there should be a sense that it's much older than he himself is.

Kurei literally has the souls of two other people living within him. They shouuld ping as separate, but not? In that they've sort of become a part of him, but are still the souls of two people who've died so...I guess he'd read as having three souls... Also, idk if Lucifer can really tell/see but Kurei's own soul should read as a firey thing with a vaguely bird-like/phoenix shape.

Bonten is........................... yeah okay Amatsuki is complicated. Like AS, "body" and "heart/soul" are separate concepts. Bonten's are both where they should be! BUT the way I've been having people with supernatural senses handle it is that he has some remaining metaphysical fingerprints of some GREATER POWER messing around with him in the past on him. Also, you know, he's visibly not human, so you won't need any special abilities to sense that.

Riful is a monstrous vorething that as far as canon tells me pings as pretty nasty/evil IIRC and is definitely ssssomething supernatural even though the specifics are vague vague vaaague. So how you want to handle that is UP TO YOUUUU, because idk man.

Mikage is a ~fulfilled~ soul that ascended to heaven and was reincarnated as magic holy babydragon, and his human form runs off of spiritual energy and handwaving. If Lucifer looks really REALLY REALLY closely he might notice that Mikage's soul was torn in half at one point, but it's since been purified and wholly repaired.

Some kind of connection to Ven. They have completely separate souls, but the same heart. On the other hand, 'heart' in KH basically means what 'soul' means in most things, and 'soul' means identity/personality/force of will. Did I mention 'my bff KH?'

Mithos is inorganic \:D/ and will become an angel upon taking his skill! Though Symphonia angels are not Heaven/Hell type angels at all so it would be a different ping. I guess it would mostly be THIS KID IS MADE OF PURE MAGIC POWERED BY A ROCK OF COMPRESSED DEAD HUMAN SOULS on his chest yayyyy.
