Lucifer Canon Timeline
So, Angel Sanctuary is a series that literally concerns the whole of creation, because a lot of the plot elements are about angels who were born before humanity was! Lucifel and Michael, Lucifel and Alexiel, Alexiel and Rociel, etc etc. Angel Sanctuary has a lot of flashbacks, but they are generally disjointed and difficult to put in order. So I have OUTLINED Lucifer's entire past, up until the start of canon. 95% of this is actually stuff canon says, but wasn't very clear about, so hopefully it is helpful to others.
START OF CREATION (pre-earth/humanity):
-Born along with Michael, comes with a prophecy of one of them being the prince of light, the other the prince of darkness. Given the name Lucifel.
-Followed around by an adoring Michael in his youth, connects with no one
-Goes to meet God, God tells him his destiny is to be the temper who will lead humanity astray, the king of all evil, the ruler of hell, scourge of creation and general king dickwad so that God has someone to make him look good
-Gets pretty pissed, goes to murder and rape Alexiel, who was said to be God's most beloved daughter, but instead falls in love with her and declares she belongs to him
-Declared by God to be the Morningstar, the Highest Seraphim, and basically made ruler of heaven
EARLY CREATION (early earth/humanity):
-Becomes darker and crueler and aloof, resulting in a kind of crazy abusive magnetism where people try to draw close to him and he mocks them for it (See: Michael, that one guy in military school, Belial)
-Begins murdering lots of angels and recruits angels who also aren't happy about this pre-destiny shit, many of them are high ranking angels
-Rebels against Heaven, laying the lower levels to waste in the process, takes the name Lucifer
-Fights Michael, 'loses' (?), but also drives Michael crazy in the process by not giving a shit
-Retreats from Heaven, use his own body to become a stabilizing base for a totally unstable dimension, allowing the demons/fallen angels/etc a place to live
-Gets a new body! Declares the various Satan's among the most powerful of his followers
-Leads a second war against Heaven, this time using it as a distraction to get back into Eden to free Alexiel
-Whisks Alexiel out of Eden, but is captured by God for this UNPLANNED rebellion
-Has his soul stuffed into the holy sword, Nanatsusaya, turning it instantly into a crazily powerful sword with such a high bloodlust that anyone who wields it goes on a berserker rampage and eventually kills themselves. Loses his powers and memories in the process, becomes known as Nanatsusaya.
-Is locked in a cave so that people can't touch him
-Is found by Alexiel who bribes him to call her his master if she will tell him his name. Agrees.
-Kills angels invading the upper levels of Hell with Alexiel
-Alexiel runs into a tiny Evil named Kurai, and helps her and the other Evils defend their lands from angels
MID CREATION (early human civilization):
-Alexiel leads an attack on Heaven, and makes it all the way up to the higher levels, intending to kill Rociel, who is the current Seraphim/Ruler of Heaven
-Rociel cries because Alexiel doesn't love him, Alexiel hesitates and Rociel breaks Nanatsusaya, but also bleeds on him, thus killing Nanatsusya and making him immortal in the same instant
-Unable to kill Rociel, Alexiel seals him into the earth, under what would eventually become Tokyo
-Alexiel is captured by Heaven and sentenced to be reborn over and over again as a human who will live a short and painful life
-Nanatsusaya stalks Alexiel's soul while regathering his shards
-Eventually whole again, Nanatsusaya begins making bargains to use bodies of the dead or dying when eh finds Alexiel, allowing him to stalk her a bit better. Rociel's power of immortality allows Nanatsusya to heal any body he climbs into once he has permission to enter it.
-This cycle of stalk Alexiel, find a body to occupy around her, stalk her more until she eventually dies, continues for thousands of years and probably hundreds of times.
RECENT CREATION (last few hundred years):
-Found and killed Alexiel's guardian angel so she fell off heaven's radar
-Takes the body of a samurai who loved Alexiel's current incarnation, used his already pretty evil sword to kill a lot of holy people so that it transcended into an unholy sword imbued with Lucifer's power.
-Names the sword Shiranui and carries it inside his soul to use in other lives
-Finds Alexiel reborn as a japanese boy named Setsuna
-Finds a boy named Kira Sakuya dying after he and his mother were hit by a car, makes a deal with a boy to A) Read a lot and learn many things and B) make his father hate him so he won't suffer when he dies again. Takes over Kira Sakuya's body at seven years old.
-Becomes a total delinquent to make father's life miserable while secretly keeping tabs on Setsuna
-Katou joins the group of thuggish types who tend to follow him around in middle school
-At age 14ish intervenes when he senses Setsuna about to lose control during a fight and murder someone
-Becomes Setsuna's friend and role model and a hilarious mix of good/bad influence
-Pierces Setsuna's ears and makes him wear earrings with a spell on them that will make Setsuna pass out if he sees blood (to prevent him going into a berserker rage when he sees blood)
-Lives an ordinary human life that consists of guiding Setsuna, keeping Katou alive but not fixing him, and failing to make his father hate him
